2013 OC Throwodown qualifiers are well on their way. The 2013 OC Throwdown is the premiere CrossFit competition and a precursor to the CF Games. Many of CrossFit’s top elite athletes will be battling to see where they stand for the 2013 season. This is a chance for anyone who is fit enough to make a name for themselves and cause ripples at the top of the CrossFit standings.

Qualifying WOD#1 was released last week and video submissions had to be turned in by the 10th. So if you are following/competing its time for WOD #2. The second workout of the 5 qualifying WODS is a 5 min AMRAP: 30 Squat Clean
and Jerks at 155/105 and 30 Bar Facing Burpees. Someone has already posted a score of 60 which means they did 155# Grace(30 clean&jerks) and 30 bar facing burpees in 5 minutes ( that is BEAST).
Standards for the Clean&Jerks: “The barbell goes from ground to overhead, passing through a front squat in which
the crease of the hip passes below the height of the kneecap. The finish position is with the arms, hips and knees fully extended, arms overhead, with at least a portion of the ear visible in front of the arm. Dropping the barbell is acceptable. The clean is worth a half point and the jerk is worth a half point. Completed all 30 clean and jerks total 30 points or reps. A thruster to overhead is ok.”
Standards for the Bar Facing Burpees: “Each burpee must be performed perpendicular to and facing the barbell. Your head cannot be over the barbell. The chest and thighs touch the ground at the bottom. You must jump over the barbell from both feet and land on both feet. One-footed jumping or stepping over is not permitted. The next rep will then begin on the opposite side facing the barbell.”
