Aloha CF Ohana-
Disclaimer*everything following is my opinion** I have been lifting for about 5 years now. When I first started for about 2-3 years I took the technique I learned as the word of God, set in stone and unwavering. I practiced the technique I was taught and did my best to perfect my form. Ultimately I have come to the conclusion that form def matters, but I would take Athleticism and Brute Strength over perfect technique 99 out of 100 times. If you watch any lifter, at the elite level especially, you will see variance in technique and form, knees tracking in, weight on the toes, and early arm bends. Most of the lifts are made, granted that these lifters are trying extreme loads, they adapt is what I am trying to get at. Do whatever works for you! Check out this Chinese lifter’s take on the clean and jerk. What do you think?
ps anyone know who that lifter is in the image?
