I’m strong…

28 Aug

I’m strong

I have muscles

And I’m a female

If you have a problem with that, you can f’ off.

I’m tired of people telling me that this is crazy.

I’m tired of the boys who can’t handle that I can do what they do, and do it better.

I’m tired of being told to “maybe back off from the weights, so I won’t be so musclely”

I’m tired of guys trying to arm-wrestle me in bars.

I’m tired of a mass society that sends the messages that “pretty girls don’t have muscles” that strength is a masculine trait, reserved for the guys only… Why would you want to keep us weak?

I’m tired of having to explain why I lift such heavy weights and why I don’t try something like Zumba… I doubt any guy out there has ever been asked this question.

I’m tired of it being inferred that I’m any less then of a girl because I like to spend my free time doing back squats and flipping tires, in fact I probably have make-up and jewelry on as I do it. Not to prove a point, but in addition to back squats and tire flipping, I also happen to also really like make-up and jewelry.

I’m tired of having ladies shy away from lifting real weights at the prospect of becoming muscular, yet “skinny-fat” is still completely socially acceptable.

I’m tired, but refuse to change.

I am at my best when I am strong.

Whether you like it or not.

I’m strong

I have muscles

And I’m a female.
